The classroom and gymnasium addition to St. John the Baptist Catholic School provided an additional 33,000 square feet to the existing school facility. The building structure consists of CMU walls, structural steel, shingled roof, and brick veneer exterior. The two-story addition has a gymnasium with locker rooms, concession area, restrooms, kitchen, cafeteria, classrooms, and other supporting rooms. Completed in 2001 for $2,955,736.
The Pastoral Office Center was completed in 2008 for $2,272,557.
The Parish Life Center was completed in 2011 and includes a gathering room, a full commercial kitchen and serving area, large and small meeting rooms, restrooms, curved walls, chapel, nursery, and drive through canopy. Construction consists of structural steel, glue laminated beams, wood trusses, CMU, block, brick veneer, and both modified bituminous and shingled roof on a complex roof pitch. This was an 18,000sf, $3,506,619 project.
Winner: The Parish Life Center won Associated Builders & Contractors’ 2011 Excellence in Construction Award in the Commercial $2-5 Million Category.
In all there are seven projects since 2001 totaling $9,005,566. After the first project, all of the others were negotiated.
