2008-09-05    LBI FALL 2008 PROJECT UPDATE
  LBI has just completed the $1.9M Cove United Methodist Church Youth Building and will be finishing Huntsville High and Whitesburg Elementary School projects very soon. We are mid-project on the $3M Scottsboro Police Department renovation & addition, $2.5M Lexus renovation, and $1.4M Douglas High School addition. We are just beginning a $6.5M Buckhorn High School renovation & addition.  
 
2008-04-04    LBI SPRING 2008 PROJECT UPDATE
  LBI has won contracts on the Scottsboro Police Department, Douglas High School, NASA 4604, and Huntsville High School Soccer Field House that have begun or will beginning this quarter.  
 
2008-03-04    LBI/LEXUS GROUND BREAKING CEREMONY
  Paul Bergman-LBI Superintendent, breaks ground at Lexus for owner, Ellenae Fairhurst. Mayor Spencer, Sean Lee-LBI Project Manager, Steve Schneider-Architect, and others attended. The project is a negotiated $2.7M renovation scheduled for completion in December 2008.  
 
2008-02-01    LBI WINS “EXCELLENCE IN CONSTRUCTION” AWARDS
  LBI won three “2007 Excellence in Construction” awards from the Associated Builders & Contractors. The ABC "Excellence in Construction" award is a nationwide program to publicly recognize quality and innovation in the construction industry. Sean Lee, Project Manager, and Paul Bergmann, Superintendent, accepted first place awards for LBI in the Pre-engineered Building Under $2 Million Category for Stewart Electric Company New Office & Warehouse and in the Public Works/Environmental Category for John Hunt Park Soccer Communication Center. Shea Thomas, Project Manager, and Pat O’Reilly, Superintendent, accepted the first place award for LBI in the Institutional Under $5 Million Category for Providence Baptist Church.  
 
2007-09-01    LBI FALL 2007 PROJECT UPDATE
  Lee Builders, Inc. (LBI) is beginning several new negotiated projects: St John’s Catholic Church Sanctuary, Superior Bank in Cullman, Star Market Remodel, and Cove United Methodist Church. LBI also bid, won, and has begun the Central Presbyterian Church and the gym & classroom addition for Julian Newman Elementary School in Athens.  
 
2007-08-23    GOING GREEN
  Shea Thomas & Joseph Lee of Lee Builders, Inc. (LBI) attended the ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers) Technical Conference on "Going Green" that addressed the key sustainability issues and changes coming in our industry. Specific topics included: testing methods, school energy guides, reducing energy & providing good ventilation, and zero energy buildings. www.ashrae.org  
 
2007-08-22    LEE BUILDERS GENERAL MANAGER ELECTED VICE PRESIDENT OF THE NORTH SECTION ALABAMA ASSOCIATED GENERAL CONTRACTORS.
  Joseph Lee of Lee Builders, Inc. (LBI) has been elected Vice President of the North Section Alabama Associated General Contractors for 2008 & 2009 and President for 2010 & 2011. The AGC is an organization of qualified construction contractors and industry related companies dedicated to skill, integrity, responsibility, improving the construction industry, improving the quality of construction, and protecting the public interest. www.agc.org  
 
2007-07-14    LEE BUILDERS & SKT ARCHITECTS WIN DESIGN/BUILD COMPETITION AND FEED THE HUNGRY.
  Joseph Lee of Lee Builders, Inc. (LBI) teamed up with SKT Architects to participate in Canstruction 2007. Canstruction combines the competitive spirit of a design/build competition with a unique way to help feed hungry people. Sculptures are designed and built entirely out of canned foods by the teams. This local project helped increase awareness and brought in more than 8000 cans of food that were donated to the Food Bank of North Alabama. www.canstruction.com  
 
2007-05-01    SPRING 2007 PROJECT UPDATE
  Lee Builders, Inc. (LBI) is starting several new projects in May: a Pavilion at the National Children?s Advocacy Center, the Welcome Center for Wyndham Park Village, and the Madison County Community Boathouse. And completing several others: the negotiated Downtown Superior Bank Interior Renovation and a negotiated design-build 2nd Floor Build-out for ISL/Bosch Aerospace.  
 
2007-02-27    IN WASHINGTON WITH OUR SENATORS AND REPRESENTATIVES
  Joseph Lee, General Manager of Lee Builders, Inc. (LBI) visited Washington as a representative from the small business community with three members of the Food Bank of North Alabama. They met with Representative Bud Cramer, Representative Robert Aderholt, Senator Jeff Sessions' Legislative Correspondent, and Senator Richard Shelby's Chief of Staff to discuss the upcoming Farm Bill and the affect some of its provisions would have on Food Bank services. The Food Bank of North Alabama solicits, warehouses, and distributes food product in support of North Alabama's needy, ill and children. Also attending were: 2007 Board President, Greg Kamback; Board Member and Committee Chair, Ritalinda Lee, PhD; Agency Coordinator, Richard Hartz. www.alfoodbanks.org/huntsville
